NEON DESERT MUSIC FESTIVAL (EL PASO, TX)

The much-anticipated Neon Desert Music Festival went down in my hometown, El Paso, TX this past Saturday, April 30th. What is the Neon Desert Music Festival, you ask? It's the next Coachella and/or Austin City Limits to hit the music scene (among other great things happening in El Paso is the ongoing Plaza Classic Film Festival). The lineup included some 30 great bands, among them the Omar Rodriguez-Lopez Group (shown below), Dirty Vegas, Kinky, and Los Amigos Invisibles (below). More than 10,000 people showed up to the festival in its debut year. How many will we expect next year? And the year after that? The stars have definitely aligned in El Paso's favor... And to my fellow El Pasoans, if you have any groovy videos/pics from the festival you'd like to share, please feel free to send them my way and you may just see them up on this Blog soon.

This looks like it was really cool! I just missed it by a few days. El Paso has so much potential and I see more and more things coming together for the city. I've even noticed so many new restaurants since I was here in Dec.

El Paso has so so much potential and just so much talent, it's about to blow up culturally. The revolution has just begun ;)

I am looking forward to next years neon desert fest. I didn't get to go to this one, but I am sure next years will top it.
